Currently creativity is the most sought after of the thinking skills. Creativity is difficult to define because it exists on the cusp of the disciplines of psychology, science and the arts (Marsh, 2010 p. 16.) The simplest definition of creativity is the ability to create something that is both novel compared to what has come before and is also of value (Bilder, 2012; Csikszentmihaly, 1996).
Creativity is important because implicit in creative activities are opportunities for questioning, making connections, innovating, problem-solving, communicating, collaborating, connecting and reflecting critically. Discussions of creativity abound in the literature (Marsh, 2010). Banaj and Burn (2010) have even developed 8 rhetorics of creativity.
